New "Click to Enlarge" page released!

Greg S. -

We have just released a brand new Click to Enlarge page. To see a sample of this page, you can try this link:

http://img.inkfrog.com/click_enlarge1.php?image=hires2.jpg&username=gnusis&aid=642123721

This page is a very important aspect of inkFrog's system. This page is where potential buyers are sent to when they click on a thumbnail image from an actual eBay listing. Thus, we wanted this page to represent the professionalism that our sellers deserve.  We believe this new page accomplishes this goal.  We also believe this will allow sellers to offer larger, more detailed images with it's new 'supersize' feature.

How does the SuperSize option work?

The SuperSize option works by allowing you,  the seller,  to upload larger, more detailed images to use in your listing, without making the listing look incorrectly. What many sellers do is input extremely large images on their listing directly, which can cause the listing to look incorrect or not as professional as it could. With our new SuperSize option, you can upload large, detailed images and our system will handle rest! Buyers will see perfectly formatted images in your listings, and on the new click to enlarge page, but will have the option to see a more detailed picture by 'SuperSizing' the picture -- all of this without leaving the Click to Enlarge page.

How do I get this new Click to Enlarge page?

All existing users who are using our templates and/or who are using our click to enlarge tag in their custom template will automatically get this new page (it's active now and will automatically work on your listings).  If you are a user who would like to get this page, you can do so by using one of our prebuilt templates from the lister.  These will use the Click to Enlarge page by default.

We hope you enjoy this latest update to our system.

Don't like it.... It is not an elarged picture at all.  We sell stamps and put large images on there so people can see the detail of the stamps.  This has taken that ability away.  Please give me an option to go back to the other page.

Also when you click on the image in this page it takes you to a larger page, image still same size, huge black borders around it

docnik, please see the 'supersize' option on this page for your images.

Have tried that.  Doesn't supersize.  Interesting, when you click on the image it starts to load big, but then shrinks.

It will supersize based on your screen resolution.. so the larger your resolution, the more it will 'supersize' (assuming the image is large enough). This ensures the buyer doesn't have to scroll. It's a much smarter solution than typical supersizes.

That may be the case for alot of stuff being sold on ebay, but for collectibles where a buyer would like to see the image as large as possible to see if there are any flaws this "better solution"  is not better.  We receive lots of emails complimenting us on our large scans and this just takes that ability away for us.  Guess will will just have to encourage our buyers to view the eBay thumbnail.

Here is a screenshot of what I see when I supersize:

that was on a very normal 1024x resolution (i lowered mine for the test) -- it also got resized a little when I uploaded it to inkFrog..

Greg, Thank for taking a look.   I appreciate the individual attention.  Though I may not like the change, your customer service is outstanding.  We will figure out how to continue to give our customers the supersize images they look for.  Thanks

I am having the same problem.  Need to find a way to go back to the old way for our photos too.

We have just created another link on the click to enlarge page that allows the buyer to open the image in a separate window 'as is'. This should resolve any issues with image sizing.

You know what would really help to make some listings with full size photos look better aesthetically is if you would redo the code for the old SpareDollar Layout templates numbers 3, 7 and 8 that are NOT click to enlarge... from accepting a max of 600 wide to 800 wide. They were developed when most people had the smaller resolutions and the skinny templates look forlorn on the new wide screens.

These are also the templates that can use the image picker - or has that gone by the wayside?

Doesn't matter if it did - it can still utilize the drag and drop.

Photos at 600 to 750/800 wide do NOT look unprofessional.

Your OLD inkFrog templates [img bottm] that allow for a full size photo do allow for 800 wide photos.

[You just have only a few patterns and 3 colors tho and the hot pink is pretty much a loser. I was able to change the color only thru eBay altho I can save the auction after it's ended - just not the plain template. Would sure be nice to have different colors :=)  ]

I am having the same problem with the Click to Enlarge and Supersize features.  I was looking at your sample page where it shows the NASA photos, and I think the problem has to do with the orientation of the photo.  My photos are portrait style--tall and narrow--not landscape or horizontal (I sell clothes and I use a mannequin).   I believe the stamp dealer's photos are the same.  The window or the space provided for the enlargement is very wide but not tall enough for our photos (usually 700-800 wide and over 1100 long.  My so called enlargements are almost the same size as the photos in the templates and they occupy the right side of the window, leaving an empty space on the left.  As monitors are wider than they are taller, they are perfect for landscape photos, but my photos and others are suffering.  That second separate window makes the picture even smaller.  Please do a sample page with portrait oriented photos to see how it works.  By the way, my screen resolution is 1024 x 768.
