I see 'Wipe and Replace' and 'Find and Replace.' These look like very useful tools - are they explained anywhere? TIA

    Greg S.

Hey Winter, Wipe and replace will wipe out the entire description so you can replace it with a new one. Find & replace will find a particular 'string' (html/text) in your listing and replace it with a new one.

Greg, Thanks for this bulk editing tool.

We would really like to see a bulk editor (probably a Global) which can change the "PayPal email" in listings.

In this way, sellers can change their payment addresses in bulk using this "bulk inline editor" via inkfrog.

Then utlizing this bulk editing tool sellers can change those on scheduled as well as LIVE listings.

We do have a global that allows you to edit your paypal email in bulk. Did you not see that option?

Why not have an Excel Export features????

I agree wegotbetterdeals.  I would love that excel export feature, but most of all, BULK LOADING of NEW listing.  I would list a lot more if I could do it in bulk, listing one at a time has caused me to look at Vendio although I love Inkfrog.

GregS:  Is there plans for a bulk upload in the plans?  If so, any estimated timeline?

We are working on this everyone..  meaning, a better way  to import from Excel or CSV -- Btw, you can do this now if you make sure your listings are in Turbo lister CSV format, but I think we can make this better. If you want to try to use this feature immediately, see this sample file:

    http://www.inkfrog.com/turbolister.csv  (if it doesn't download, try http://www.inkfrog.com/turbolister.zip )

The main thing to know in this file is the site id, the site id will determine which market is launched to.

    site id: 0 = eBay.com

    site id: 3 = eBay.co.uk

side id: 100 = eBay motors

Then, you can import these by using the "import-->from turbo lister" option in the library.

So our plan is to take this, and make it better, so any feedback you have will be greatly appreciated. But lets see if it will work for anyone in its current state (we do have some users that do use this method for listing)

    Hi Greg,

I was very upset the other day.  Two customers decided to return items they had purchased, which is in my seller policy, so I went to my Images Trash to retrieve the images so that I could re-list the items.  I throw images away after items are shipped out and if people decide to return them I just restore the images.  I went to my Images Trash to restore the images and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY IMAGES was gone!  I asked the help desk about it and someone named Sheryl told me that "periodically all images are deleted."  WHAT?  Without any rhyme or reason?  Not just the old images?  Even images that I just threw away a few days before?  That is absolutely outrageous to just throw ALL images away at unpredictable times with no schedule and without alerting people beforehand.  I'm running a business here, and if you supply the capability for people to restore their images from the trash, then they should be there!  I understand if you don't want to have too many images in your hard drives, but then throw them away on a schedule that sellers are aware of.  Like anything over 3 months old, or anything over 1 month or such.  But to just decide one day that you want to delete all the Trash images from your servers and throw out images from months and months ago along with images thrown in the trash yesterday?  That really upset me.  I work very hard creating pictures and now and then I do need to retrieve them in order to re-list items.  As I said, I understand you can't have every image anyone ever made on your servers, but then simply program images over a certain age to be deleted.  The way this was done was extremely unprofessional and unreliable for sellers who use your website to run full-time businesses.

Hi! I can try to restore all your images, recently we've conducted a major maintenance procedure in all our trashes and removed most images. Normally we remove all images older than 30 days. Note that if we restore all images you've deleted there may be thousands of additional pics adding up to your image hosting space usage. Alternatively you can send us only specific item numbers you want images to be restored for and we'll do it for you.

    Greg,

I wondered what the status was of inkfrog's effort to assist sellers in identifying, eliminating and preventing duplicate listings.

I had offered a suggestion to tie the gallery image name to the INKFROG label you generate on each listing.

    Thanks

We are working on new post sale rules and inventory -- every item in inkfrog will be an inventory item, and that will ensure (along with a post sale rule) that only one item will be 'live' at any given time. So this is our plan and we are in development on it.

While you are changing inventory, could you possibly allow creating an inventory item from within the listing instead of in the "inventory" tab.  That would be greatly beneficial to those of us who use the 'inventory' variable as an ebay Custom Label.

  • Avatar
    Greg S.

Yes, we are doing all of this! :-) We are going to allow you to create inventory from any section on the site.

WOW!  That is EXCELLENT... been asking your support desk for this for a long time.  I know you don't want to be pinned on a specific date, but can you give a guesstimate as to when you'll be rolling out these changes?

It's actually in progress now, so it shouldn't be much longer before we release it. We have some other super cool stuff too coming :-)

Hi there, is there any easy way yet to determine if an image is in a 'live' e bay listing....i list one offs all the time so once the item has sold i no longer need the image/images attached to the listing

    cheers

Hi Peter, we don't have this feature, but I know a lot of users do request it. I'll show this to dev.

I just found out that ebay's turbolister does not work with Mac's.....any suggestions?

  • Avatar
    Greg S.

Do you mean to get that format? You can use excel for that format, and just input your items into excel and then export it as a csv file. Is that what you are looking to do?  (or you can use Apple's iwork "numbers" program which works the same as excel).

that is what im looking to do but I found out on the ebay turbolister forum that it does not work with Mac???  I use OpenOffice to upload inventory into my website with no problem.

So you are telling me that I can download my listings in turbolister and then save that as an excel or csv file?  Ill try that....thanks.

Turbo lister cannot be downloaded using a Mac.  I still have my PC stored away here, so I might hook it back up just for things like this....although I would rather not due to space....and I do not want to load Windows onto my Mac hard drive even if that is an option. There was a reason I made the switch to a Mac....thanks...

Im at a position where I am wanting to increase my inventory back to the levels of a couple of years ago, 1,000 - 1,500 and before I do that I would prefer to bulk load them and also use ONE system (program) to list/manage them.

    Thanks

What I found out....I downloaded my ebay listings using File Exchange but there was nothing listed on the csv file "product description"...

  • Avatar
    Greg S.

This would have to be from turbo lister (not sure about file exchange). There is an export option in turbo lister that says "turbo lister csv format' or export in turbo lister format (or something like that). That you can import into our system. We are working on our own, but it gets complex when you begin to work with images etc.

  • Avatar
    sportscollectible

I understand that but the issue is that Turbolister is not supported by Mac OS

  • Avatar
    Greg S.

Yes, so the only other way would be to take that sample file, input it into excel (or a spreadsheet type program) and use those fields to input your data.  So input your data in the spreadsheet, then export it as a csv, and it will import into our system.

I am very familiar with loading inventory into my website (outside of ebay) with csv files converted from excel spreadsheets. Yet, if I cannot use turbo lister on a Mac OS and when I tried ebay's File Exchange, there was no product descriptions.

What do you mean by a "sample file" and how do I get that?
