Beware, more Phishing emails targeted at inkFrog and eBay customers

Greg S. -

We are once again seeing a high number of Phishing scam emails being sent to inkfrog customers. Do NOT ever click on a link from an email that is sent out that looks like it's from inkFrog. It may NOT be from us. The scammers are building exact copy cats of our site and asking you to reauthorize or reactivate your account (or other various types of actions) in hopes that you click on the link and login to their site - once you login to their site, they now have your username and password. Many of them are even using my name (Greg Sisung) in the emails.

What is a Phishing scam?
There are a lot of different versions of this, but most all of them involve sending you an email asking you to perform an action by clicking on a link. The link will take you to a website that looks just like inkfrog, and the URL will be very close to an inkfrog.com URL, but if you look very closely at the URL, the part prior to the .com will NOT be our domain. We have even seen one that uses a q instead of a g in frog.  It's always best to just type in the URL you are trying to get to directly in your browser window to make sure you get to inkfrog.com directly and not some other site which may look like ours.

If you have any questions regarding any email that you receive, please contact support or myself directly. We can immediately tell you if it is a scam or not, and if so, we (or you) can send it to spoof@ebay.com.  eBay is working with us to resolve this.

Yes, thanks. I saved Inkfrog to my favorites, so I just go to it through that.

Is there somewhere that we can forward them to you Greg so we can know if they are legit or not?  ALSO - if I do need to update my ebay token, where, once I am actually logged in, can I find this info.  THANKS - Dana

I'm guessing almost all emails you get that look like are from us are fake - we don't send out very many emails to customers.

regarding the token, you can login and go to the 'preferences' section and then click on the 'eBay ids' section on the left menu. Then see the update token option there.

I figure that if it is to do with an account and important enough to send an email, then I should be able to manually log in to my account and the same posting should be there. If it's not, well it's a scam.

    Thanks for letting us know.

I keep receiving daily emails, regarding payment.....it states I am not on auto-pay (I always have been).....plus my payment was taken out on january 21st.

Beware, they look REAL, I mean really really real, I had to log in my inkfrog to make sure.

"Dear xxxxxxx, Please do not reply to this billing email as it may not be monitored. This email is to let you know that your inkFrog account balance of $9.95 is due and you are not subscribed to Auto-Pay.

Our Auto-Pay is a requirement for all accounts and allows you to subscribe using either PayPal or a Credit/Debit card. To ensure no disruptions to your account, please login to your inkFrog account and you will be prompted to complete your subscription.

Login at  http://www.inkfrog.com to complete this process. If you do not complete this step, our billing system will assume that you do not wish to continue using inkFrog, and your account will be closed. This can result in lost data.

If you have any questions regarding your inkFrog account or this billing notice, you can visit our support center at  http://support.inkfrog.com

stampqueen, actually that one is from us :-).. Sorry for the confusion there. It looks like you need to update your paypal subscription. Login and go to the 'account' link and then the 'payment and plans' link and choose your plan and go through the process again. That should resolve it or email me at greg at inkfrog (dot com) and I can explain what happened there.

OK I am blonde and old... so be patient with me OK?

I just got an email about eBay token update... I clicked on it and put in my password... took me back to the same page...

So I changed my password to be safe.

Now the question is: Do I need to update the eBay token somehow?

    Thanks

    Linda

Hi Linda, we do not send out token 'update' emails. So if you clicked on that, it may have been a fraud! You should only update your token by logging into our site directly and you should see a message to update. I would definitely (now) change your inkFrog password and also login and update your token. You can do this by going to the 'preferences-->ebay ids' section (see the update token button).

I got this today, notice that the links name is inkfroq, not inkfrog

    Hello, inkFrog member

At this time, you can't list any more items with this account. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

eBay occasionally places limits on accounts in order to help keep our community safe. This limit isn't a reflection on you -- these same limits apply to many sellers.

To prevent your account from being closed, complete this process in 48 hours

You can remove your limited  Access by clicking on the link below:

    {removing link so no users click on it}

    Thank You!

Yes.  Not sure who the scammers are from binternet.com.

When I received the phishing email the other day, I did not open the link, however, this morning my ebay account was hijacked through inkfrog and a dozen iphone g4's were listed along with some items I had sitting in my Library.  Ebay has fixed things from their end and closed all the auctions.  I have changed all my passwords, but how do I know inkfrog has resolved the issue from their end.  I have no phone number to call anyone and the live chat is offline.

Im so sick of this, when is not paypal, is ebay or inkfrog, when is this going to end? I must get 2 or 3 emails a day, and if you try to block them they use another email address.

So what about the HighWire one I just got today - why is the only way to view the "FREE" offer to click the link or calling a 1-877 telephone number?

[firstname], Did you know that inkFrog has a sister company that will get you your very own store front and a FREE facebook store? Your store is built for you in minutes, using your domain name or one of ours. And since you are an inkFrog member, you get a 60 day FREE trial. ??? - I ain't clicking on any links...

    Greg S.

You can always just go to http://www.highwire.com/inkfrog/  -- that is the offer URL to ensure you get the free 60 days.

giftsbylulee -- I agree! Unfortunately this is just one of those things on the internet.

I received 5 Inkfrog scams today.  I question if anyone is doing anything about stopping this, at least have an address to forward them, maybe then you'd see how wide spread this problem is.  Until reading the above, I had no idea that Ebay was working with you on this.  I've just been deleting all emails referencing Inkfrong, hopefully you haven't actually been sending something important. If so, it's been deleted.

Send these to spoof@ebay.com - they are working with us to shut these sites down. Unfortunately, they  can setup new sites quickly and easily so it becomes hard to stop them. I agree it is very frustrating.

    I also got a scam message from  airkooled@btinternet.com ,  daneonrust@gmail.com

    Beware of above emails.

I got one last night from inkfrog@inkfrolg.com.  I was stupid enough to click a link.  Once I realized what I had done, I changed my password.  Is there anything else I should do/know about?

  • Avatar
    Greg S.

as long as you changed your password you are good. Even better actually because they will try to use your old one and it will not work, wasting their time which is always fun :-) -- Just make sure you didn't use that password anywhere else, like eBay or paypal for ex. If you do, change those as well.
