eBay Notification issue causing problems with live, unsold, and sold listings

Hi everyone, eBay is having issues with their end of item notifications (and their update notifications). Our system uses these to keep your listings accurate and up to date. For example, when a listing closes and is unsold, we receive a notification/notice from eBay. Our system then knows to move your 'live' listing to your 'unsold' section.  Because eBay is not sending many of these notices, we can't update your lists. This may affect your live, unsold, and sold listings "lists" inside inkFrog (meaning, they will show incorrectly).

eBay's notifications are an extremely important part of our system. We hope they have it resolve shortly and will continue to check with them (and bug them) to get the issue resolved.

If you need to update your lists to relist items or better manage them, contact support and they can 'synch' them.

    I am not able to revise my items after I list them because they are not visible on Inkfrog & this is very annoying & hurts my business if I can't change a description or add info or correct an error that I overlooked!

    I am really effected by this can only try to revise items using eBay & skip Inkfrog.

    I would like to know how long this is gonna go on?

    I hope they realize the effect this has on us all.

    I appreciate you making a statement on this issue & hope you really bug the heck out eBay for us all.

    The same thing was going on last night. When I contacted IF she said she would update my files (what ever that means she said only she could do it) and things would be updated in 20 minutes. Once she did that I refreshed and it was fixed right away. So if this is the same problem as last night my question is why is there not anyone at live chat to do the same thing tonight? Instead we are all sitting waiting as our blood pressure goes through the roof. I am a just dont understand why my friend that uses another site never has any problems and IF always blames the problems on eBay. Kind of makes me wonder.... I have a ton of photos here and dont want to change. I just wish there were not so many problems here at IF.

    Ebay has been trying hard to bring its stocks and investor interest up, that is why they are raising their fees so much..They are bringing in huge corporations with hundreds of thousands of ads and dilute the market for us and up go there revenues. There is a chance they are doing this on purpose to make it "unreliable" out "here" to bring people back in to using ebays listing tools.. That is why they had to offer free photos because people were bailing out like a burning building..  My ads in my new ebay name with no store and no IF cost me $.50-$.70 cents with ebay becase of the photos,  vs $ .20 with IF and IF is getting a kickback from ebay even. Ebay makes a of more money with there own lister.. 

    I cant relist my expired ads right now with IF and if i do it through ebays "relist" feature i loose all my pictures (IF's main HOOK on us) or have to pay $.15 ea

    Yeah i feel a bit like the tow rope.. stuck in the middle, yanked both ways, and stressed to breaking.. Quite tired of ebay and growing tired of IF quickly.. Just as easy to host your own photos with picasa.. without the ftp and a thousand extra "clicks"

    Hello all,

    I just started using IF about 2 days ago to manage my listings for a buisness that I'm building.  This seems to be a very major problem if it is not fixed very soon, it almost defiets the purpose of using a tool like this for me.  Does anyone know if the other competitors rely on platform updates to keep thier information accurate?

    dferrera -- we don't get a kickback from eBay, i'm not sure where you heard that from.

    Jesse, this is the first time this has happened with the notifications. They have been delayed a little bit before, but never like this. If they don't get it resolved, we will build a work around. (actually will be talking w. dev. today to see what we can do).

    Any word on when this is going to be resolved? I am getting really nervous about listing anything between this and the internal error that I am still getting. It makes me worried that my inventory is not correct and that I have more items listed than I have and that I am now going to have to go back and count over 900 items to make sure everything is ok.

    Hi Sunshine, It is fixed. Try logging out of IF and see. Mine is working well.

    If your lists are not in synch, support can update them manually so you can add insurance etc.

    I'm receiveing everyone of my unsold emails from ebay. But not showing up on IF. Why?

    I need to relist but when I go through ebay to relist my images are messed up.

    Dee, those emails are separate from what our system uses and doesn't mean that we received the notification  -- contact support and they can rebuild your list and you can then relist the items that you need.

    What exactly has been "fixed" with this issue?  Is the updating still running behind?  I've been working this morning, manually ending some items so that I could make some changes and then relisting them.  None of the ones that I have ended have shown up (so far) in my Unsold list, and my inventory numbers are not reflecting the ending items. 

    Example - I have 1 item which I ended, edited, and then relisted.  Now my inventory shows that I have 1 in stock but 2 listed!  And the ended one is not in the Unsold list yet.  When I look on Ebay, I only have 1 listed and it is the newly edited one.  But like sunshine above, I don't have time to sit and count what's on Ebay.  I depend on my inventory counts.

    If it's just running slowly to update, I can wait.  But I need to know if I'm waiting for something that's going to update or not.

    My infrog unsold items still in the "live", so, how can I relisted them via inkfrog? When will they go back to unsold?

    There something else going on also. When I relist an item from IF, some of my gallery pictures don't show up on ebay. When I go to IF to revise the listing, the listing is not there. But I relisted it through IF. ???

    Has inkfrog considered what this can cost people in their business financially.. insertion fees.. the chance that you may have unhappy customers if you have HUNDREDS of items and did not catch EVERY double listing and you sold some already sold items! Here is where it could REALLY suck.. unhappy customers leave you low DSR or bad feedback for selling them an item that already sold.. THEN.. ebay takes away your TOP RATED seller rating OR now restricts you from selling certain items in a time frame.. has IF thought of this??? .. or are you expecting ebay to take this into acount?? When is IF going to take responsiblilty for this?? This is not the first time this has happened.. let's get real IF.. this has happened SEVERAL times to me and it has not been over the last couple of days. VERY VERY FRUSTRATED.

    jamiedamo, our system is only as good as eBay's -- as you can imagine, we are extremely frustrated by this. We have not seen 'fixes' take this long in the past and are not sure what is going on with eBay and their API. We are trying to work on updates and have released one already. You will see a 'refresh' button in your account, which will allow you to synch your list(s) with eBay. This should get you a work around for now. Obviously, these systems take a long time to build, and we are doing the best we can with what has happened. eBay usually has fixes in place for these within a few hours.

    Hey Just Right Click on the page and then select ----- RELOAD or REFRESH ..... whichever your browser gives you.  

    PS: I had a crazy thing happen when this first showed up ....... I added three pictures to a listing that had ended and I relisted and the 3 photos showed up in a row above my template ..... just below my flash widget player.  The listing is functioning fine, but looks a little off with bare naked pictures in a row across the page before my listing template.

     

    PSS ....... seems InkFrog is having some slowing and not being able to log in issues.

    Hi,

    Thanx for trying to help. But I think & hope Greg is talking about a refresh button inside our IF acct. The browswer refresh won't help because the information isn't there. Sure hope this gets straightened out soon.

    There is also and issue which is having an affect on my auto relisting.  Generally an auction will relist within minutes of it being unsold. Now all of my auto relisting auctions are off by as much as 14 hours.  I'm not sure if setting a relist time would work, if IF isn't getting the message that the item hasn't been sold. I would need a relist time and day function.  I'll have to figure out another work-around unless someone else has an idea how to solve this.  I will say staff has been good at refreshing my account whenever I ask.  Thanks for the refresh button, I'll give it a try.  Kathy

    umm... the refresh button DID NOT work.. AND I was told they could synch my unsold listings.. well.. did not work either.. so again.. what does IF plan to do to help customers FINANCIALLY ????

    So.. just went to AUCTIVA and quickly joined.. so.... why are THEY not having this problem?? They are sinked with ebay. HMMM. Makes you wonder. I will be leaving here soon if this is not fixed.

    Greg, did you look at the eBay link you refer people to? One of the later entries says Inkfrog needs to poll eBay or something like that. It is from someone who runs a service like Inkfrog who says his customers were affected but no longer are because he fixed it. ??  Your embedded Refresh button did not work for me either.

    Is this affecting ALL of our listings or only Fixed Price??
